Spring cleaning: reduce, recycle, rehabilitate

Rehabilitation Center participant working a thrift store

That exercise equipment that didn’t get you on the running path? It can still do some good. It could end up getting an addict on the road to recovery.

You probably think of spring cleaning as a time to reclaim some space in the basement or garage. We think of it as a season when your generous donations help The Salvation Army continue its mission to serve men in recovery.

When you donate your gently used clothes, household items and furniture to a Salvation Army Store, you are helping men on a path to a new life. That’s because money from the sale of your donation funds The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Minneapolis, where men live and work in an intensive drug and alcohol recovery program.

So – spring into cleaning! Whittle down your wardrobe, go through the garage and see what’s taking up space in the basement. The more you reduce and recycle, the more The Salvation Army can rehabilitate.

Donations are accepted at nine metro area Salvation Army Stores and 150 collection boxes in the area. All donations are tax-deductible.
